| Three easy miles. I'm not in very good shape right now, so the achievement is that I went on a run today. I ordered a new pair of running shoes today, since mine are very worn. Unfortunately they will take a while to get here, due to the influx of online orders during this time.

| Today one of my younger brothers and I hiked Mahogany, a mountain right next to my house. We took the trail up. Right before the top there was still a lot of snow. Postholing three feet deep isn't too much fun when it's quite steep. My brother insisted there was a trial that went down another part of the mountain, so we followed the ridge for a bit before heading down. There was a trail that was on another part of the mountain, but unfortunately we didn't find it unitl we were 2/3 of the way down the mountain. Our legs were nearly scratched raw because of it haha. Once we found the trail we ran home. Good times overall, my legs are likely to be sore tomorrow.

| This week was finals week for me, which let to a lot of late nights and no running until today unfortuntaely. Drove up to Lambert for my run today. I went on High Bench into Spring, then up to the top of Rodeo and back. It's been a while since I have been to Lambert, many good memories there. The river was very high, the highest I've even seen it. I'll probably be back at Lambert within the week for another run.

| I pulled a muscle in my back on Saturday, and I was hoping it would feel good enough to go for a run today. Thankfully it did. Easy run on the canal. With about a quarter mile left I ran through some sprinklers, whoever's lawn that was is a blessed soul.

| I ran over to the start of mountain run about. It was nice and warm, maybe even a bit warmer than I would have prefered. It's going to take a few more weeks to get to warm weather. On the way back while crossing the river by the canyon I saw someone ice bathing, which I thought was interesting. The only people I had seen ice bath there were members of the LPXC team. It was Josh Ericksen! I hadn't seen him since August 2016, so that was fun. I couldn't hear him to well unfortunately, due to the river. Good run. Tomorrow I'm hiking big baldy, one of the only mountains that doesn't have snow on it. Should be a good time.

| Went up dry canyon towards big baldy, then I started to get some gnarly blisters. I wasn't really feeling up to a few more miles of uphill with them, so we turned around early unfortunately. Hopefully the blisters are not a result of my shoes. I think they are about broken in now. I'll use them a few more times, and if I continue to get blisters, I will start shopping for a new pair. Once we got home I went to the baseball field close to my house and did some barefoot running. Nice and refreshing. Good times.

| Drove up to Lambert and did a few loops there. It was kind of hot out, about 80 degrees. I think I saw Dustin Bybee on my run which was pretty cool.

| Good run in the evening. The sun was set and there was a cool breeze the entire time, counldn't have asked for more optimal conditions. Did a loop out around Lone Peak and back. For some reason the first 3/4 of a mile I was dying haha. Fortunately one I settled in a little bit I felt much better.
These short runs are kind of boring, but it's what I need to do right now. I'm hoping by the end of summer I can be doing 50 miles a week, but I'm just not in shape right now. I'll probably run 18-20 miles this week, and slowly build up.

| Today's run was pretty rough. I spent the weekend at Capitol Reef and Lake Powell, and didn't drink nearly enough water. I also forgot my water bottle when I went to work today, so I was rather dehydrated. I felt pretty sick most of it. Went out by Art Dye and made a little loop out of it. It was a bit of a grind but glad I got through it.

| Did a loop around cedar hills and a few parks. Half the county seemed to be at Highland Glen. There was a wedding going on the even with all the pandemonium, that was pretty funny haha. The canal had their water fountains on which I was very grateful for. Felt pretty good.

| Today I ran in the strongest wind I have ever run in. I met Tanner Nelson at Grove Creek and went on Bonneville out past Molly's a bit and back. On the way out, the wind was coming at us. Most of the time I had my head down so dirt wouldn't get into my eyes and mouth. That part was honestly rathe miserable haha. Tanner and I tried to talk at the beginning, but after a bit we gave up trying because we couldn't hear eachother. Running back was a lot more enjoyable, but I did almost lose my balance a few times with some of the stronger gusts. My legs were super tited today, not sure why. I don't think sitting in an office for 8-10 hours a day necessarily helps.

| Went up to Lambert. Did a few loops. The trails that I went on were High Bench, Spring, Middle, Ruin, and Corkscrew. I've decided that High Bench is the prettiest trail at the park. Unfortunately, it's probably the most trafficked as well. I've realized that I need to get more than just my lungs in better shape, my legs have a long way to go as well.

| I work from 12-8 on Wednesdays, so I was able to run this morning. The temperature was perfect, in the high 50's. It rained for a little bit, which felt amazing. Went out to Art Dye. Good times.

| Ran to the mouth of the canyon, then up to the start of the wall, then did mountain run backwards. I did about 2/3 of the trail before turing around. I had forgotten how much I love that trial. Sometime next week I will probably do the loop from legacy. On the way down the dirt road by the canyon I was turing a bit too fast and started to land weird on my ankle. This moment kind of happened in slow motion haha. I picked that foot up so I wouldn't roll my ankle. I ended uop falling down and getting a fair amount of scratches on my leg, but I will take that over a bad rolled anke any day. It was quite warm out, even though the sun was set for 3/4 of my run. During the last few minutes of my run I saw some lightning down by Orem.

| Ran up to Horsetail falls and back. I've realized in the past week that my legs have a long way to go, so I decided to get a good hill workout in. There were masses of people at the beginning, even though it was just after 7am. Thankfully, within a half mile we were almost by ourselves. We had the falls all to ourselves, which was suprising but I enjoyed. There was about three times the amount of water in the falls from what I'm used to, but I guess I should expect that in late spring.

| Went up on Bonneville with my neighbors dog. On the way out he was dragging me along. Either there were an abnormal amount of rabbits out, or the dog is much more aware of them than I am. On the way back he started to understand my pace and fell in line beside me. It was a good time and also a pretty good workout. My knees were tightening up towards the end, but I probably deserve that for not running Tuesday or Wednesday.
Shoutout to Zack for inviting me to play nine square before my run, saw some LP homies I hadn't seen in almost four years!

| I had plans to run on a certain trail, but it was 12 degrees this morning. I was hoping it would be upwards of 25, I guess I need to keep a closer eye on the weather. I quickly abandoned my plans for the trial and ran up to the ARC and ran on the treadmill there. 7:22 average pace. The outside of my left foot was hurting for the first mile or so on the treadmill but it went away.

| Drove up to the mouth of Green Canyon, ran a little more than 3.5 miles up and then headed back. I was on a dirt road at first, but I found a trail that snaked up the canyon, so I went on that. Quite enjoyable. I did a lot of squats and lunges yesterday, which made the first few miles feel quite sluggish, but I ended up feeling pretty good. Temperature was in the high 30's and felt quite nice.

| Finally out of quarentine! I've heard about some people having lasting effects from the virus on their lungs, I'm nervous but also intrigued to see if I have any lasting effects. I went quite slow on this run, like a 9:30 pace. Just wanted to see how my body would react. Didn't feel anything abnormal and didn't feel hard. I'm going to move forward with an abundance of caution, just because I don't want to lungs to be messed up long term. I'm going to have to do some reasearch on how athletes bounce back after getting it. It could be there's nothing to worry about, but I just want to make sure haha.

| Drove up to Green Canyon for my run today. Unfortunately it was a lot icier than I thought it would be. It was very nice weather again, this time in the 50's, so I thought it would have been melted. I only biffed it once on the way down, which I'm considering an accomplishment. My feet started to hurt because of how hard the ice was, but whenever I was able to get off it they were fine.

| This week got real crazy with school work. I didn't like taking the time off from running to get study more, but I pay a lot of money to go to school so I figured I probably needed to put time in to do well in it. Spent just about every waking moment Wednesday-Friday studying and doing homework. Glad those few days are behind me.
For my run today I went up Hassleback ridge to the billboards that are on top of the mountain. Power hiked the steepest parts. Wasn't as tough as I thought it would be, although my legs are a little sore. Going down was rather annoying because it was too steep to let myself go, had to hold my momentum back to keep myself from falling.
Not the week of training I was hoping for, but it's not the end of the world. Finals start in a week, this next week no assignments are due so it's just studying. Will have time to run everyday.

| Ran up into Hyde park, found a cool pyramid playground that is like the lite version of the one by Westlake high school. Didn't feel very good, kind of a rough run.
Finished reading a book about breathing today. Based on what it said, I have a handful of things I need to change. I'm going to work on breathing better when I'm not working out first, because I tried to breathe differently on this run and I was dying haha. Taking my marketing final tonight, tis the season of long nights of studying and little sleep.

| It snowed last night, so I had an inch and a half of fresh snow to run on last night. Fresh snow is arguably my favorite thing to run on. I ran up to Logan Canyon, went to the end of the highline trail and back. Once I was on the trail I didn't see anyone, that was nice.

| Ran just over a mile before meeting Justin at the stadium. A few minutes into our run, Thomas Heaps found us. Was a good time running with other people. haven't done that for a while haha. It was also nice to see what kind of shape I'm in, running with a few dudes who are in much better shape than me. We were hitting 6:50's while I was with them, but the last few miles I fell back. Felt decent overall though, I'm rarely running in the 6's right now so it was good to see where I was at.
